Vice President, Implementation Manager, Markit Trade Processing

Position Summary

Markit is the leading provider of independent, multi-asset class, high value services for the global financial market. Our independent pricing, reference data, portfolio valuations, trade processing and desktop solutions are used around the world to enhance trading operations, monetize data, reduce risk and manage compliance initiatives.

The Markit Trade Processing service is a web-based suite of solutions for automating over-the-counter (OTC) derivative post-trade processing, including tie-out, confirmation and portfolio reconciliation services.

This position requires working with multiple customers on a daily basis to manage all steps of client implementations starting with pre-sales efforts and ending with the hand-off to production support.

Duties and Accountabilities

  • On-boarding and support for new clients on Markit’s Markit Wire (formerly SwapsWire) product with growing responsibility for additional Markit Trade Processing products such as Tie-Out, Confirmation and Portfolio Reconciliation.
  • As expert of Markit Wire STP implementations, provide clients with input and suggestions during Markit Wire workflow design and implementation phase.
  • Providing product training for clients as required during the implementation process.
  • Working with existing clients to ensure all available functionality is known and integrated into their workflow where efficiencies can be achieved.
  • Control and risk management of day-to-day processes under the responsibility of the Implementation group.
  • Building and maintaining effective relationships both with clients and internal groups – Engineering Services, Product Management, Sales and Development.
  • Working with senior management to ensure maximum efficiency achieved through all processes owned by the Implementation group.
  • Supervision of junior team members.
  • Co-ordination of ongoing training for Implementation team as required.

Business Competencies

  • Strong analytical skills
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with Access or any other databases is a plus
  • Previous experience working in a client-facing role beneficial
  • Knowledge of financial markets and OTC Derivatives
  • Graduate in financial/quantitative discipline
  • Working knowledge of Markit Wire required
  • Working knowledge of FpML
  • Strong understanding of technology, and its use in achieving STP in the financial services industry
  • Able to work competently on his/her own or within a team, taking a project through complete lifecycle
  • Prior managerial experience and ability to supervise day-to-day and ongoing tasks
  • Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines
  • Strong problem solving skills
