Associate/Vice President, Sr Developer, Markit Based Pricing

Position Summary

Markit Group Limited is looking for experienced technologists to become members of its North America development team based in NYC, NY. Responsibilities include analysis of business requirements and specifications, coding, testing, debugging, and writing documentation in an agile development environment.

The Credit Derivatives business is a key business to the Markit community. As a provider of key market financials, Markit must provide up to date information on not only the Credit Derivatives that have been increasing sort after in the current financial climate, but also to provide financial data on the underlying assets upon which those instruments are based. As a developer in the Credit Derivatives business you will be working hand-in-hand with the product managers to drive the next generation of this business and the businesses that are derived from it.

Duties and Accountabilities

This project is a new initiative which is expected to become a key revenue producer. The opportunity exists for the qualified candidate to be a primary contributor in the definition of this new business area. The candidate will be interacting with the business owners, providing design concepts, developing solutions, work with infrastructure to create a deployment strategy, interfacing with the QA team and contribute on all aspects of the software development solution.

Business Competencies

Excellent business analysis skills as well as excellent communication skills.
Must have Agile SDLC Experience
5+ Years experience working with J2EE. Experience with high volume sites.
5+ Years experience working with Oracle
5+ years of experience working with UNIX.
Experience with C, C++, or .NET a plus
Proficient with Object Oriented Analysis and Design
Perl knowledge is a plus.
Experience working JBoss or other J2EE application server is a must.
Experience working closely with internal and external business clients.
Financial experience in the Fixed Income area is a requirement.

Exposure to OTC derivatives trading is a major plus
Experience working closely with business clients is a plus
