Associate, Batch Support
Role Description
Markit has a series of business critical process that run outside of UK and US business hours, we are looking for an engineer to monitor the process both at the database level (Oracle) and the associated java processes. The engineer will be expected to make straight forward fixes or escalate the issue as needed.
Technical Skills
- Experience of developing with oracle 10i and above.
- Experience of investigating and resolving database level issues, knowledge of query plans and optimization would be a benefit.
- The candidate must be competent in java and demonstrate a sound knowledge of the fundamentals.
- Knowledge of unix or linux is a definite benefit
- The candidate must has excellent problem solving skills
- Knowledge of full lifecycle processes.
- Experience of svn or cvs will be beneficial.
- The ideal candidate will have previous development experience.

- Strong academics in a numerical discipline or equivalent
- Consistent track record of delivery to excellent standards
- Able to work competently on their own or within a team, taking a project through complete lifecycle.
- Be comfortable dealing with senior individuals with a strong client and service orientation.

- Personable and able to demonstrate initiative

- High level of competency and good communication skills both written and verbal required
