Associate, Application Support Analyst, Markit Wire

Role Summary

Markit is seeking an experienced Application Support professional to join the Markitwire Integration Services Team. The role encompasses 2nd line application support for our Trade Processing application and customer implementations of associated APIs.

This person will report directly to the London IS Manager and work with an experienced team to contribute to the quality of our support.

Duties and Accountabilities

  • 2nd Line escalation. Dealing with issues raised by established 1st line support team. Apply business and technical skills – together with investigative techniques and problem solving skills to identify and resolve issues.
  • Liaising with other team members, development and infrastructure teams as required for 3rd line escalation.
  • Work directly with clients if needed to understand and resolve issues
  • Servicing requests for Ad-hoc reports from the system.

Business Competencies

  • University graduate or equivalent
  • Demonstrable experience in Application Support at a Financial Services company
  • Must have experience in SQL – preferably PL/SQL on Oracle.
  • Should have Unix skills incl. basic scripting experience.
  • Ideally - some technical understanding of OO programming languages.
  • Experienced in raising development bugs – including priority assessment and detailing how to reproduce issues.
  • ITIL Experience & Qualification may prove beneficial.
  • Excellent understanding of software systems and technology
  • Awareness of Derivatives products and Trade Processing (desirable)
